No, bugs are aliens. See, they come from PLUTO and astronauts don't want you to know that, so they kicked Pluto out of the planet group for bringing aliens to Earth.

All Pluto ever wanted was love...

This caused me to have an epiphany. Thank you Murr. My life is better now.

Nah, we already have people on Mars. They're setting up an interstellar Starbucks service.

Not practical, but I love my cup of joe in the morning

No offense, but can we not spam here?
I don't see what Transformers has to do with bugs in relation with what people consider an animal. dry.gif

I know in the science world they are considered animals, but in my eyes they aren't. You can't keep them as pet's, they're a total nuisance, and you only seem to notice them either when they're on you, directly in front of you, or really colorful or disgusting. So I don't consider insects animals for all those aspects.

Umm... Yes, yes you can keep them as pets. Pet spiders, butterflies, snails, all sorts of stuff.

Depends on which type. Butterflies aren't a nuisance, are they? Animals can also be a nuisance.

What about a chameleon? You can't even notice it because of it's camo! That's what most bugs have, camo to protect them from predators.

Insects are organisms classified in a category different from animals, therefore they can't be animals.

What? Bugs? Animals? WHAAAAT?
Well, lesse. Bugs are gross, but are living organisms with the ability to travel from one spot to another by their own means and not by happening upon a gust of wind.
....So that makes them NOT a plant... Unless they're a bulbasaur... Good golly... Plant? Animal? The world WILL never know...

I'd say bugs are animals...
You know as Dictionary.com says, "Animals are any member of the kingdom Animalia, comprising multicellular organisms that have a well-defined shape and usually limited growth, can move voluntarily, actively acquire food and digest it internally, and have sensory and nervous systems that allow them to respond rapidly to stimuli: some classification schemes also include protozoa and certain other single-celled eukaryotes that have motility and animallike nutritional modes."

...Bugs...Limited growth? Check. Move voluntarily? CHECK. Actively acquire food? Check! Other silly scientific words I know the definition of but not if a bug qualifies..... Errr... Half a check mark.

Bugs are animals too... They just are squirmy... Wormy... Purple and green... Y'know.
